AFL 2024 fixture: The best club schedule reveals on social media image

The first 15 rounds of the 2024 AFL season fixture have been released.

It has become increasingly popular for clubs to reveal their schedule with creative social media posts, and this year is no exception.

The Sporting News compiles some of the best (and worst) fixture announcements for next season.

Carlton

The Blues revealed their first 15 games of 2024 with a short video shot in the style of the popular film Napoleon Dynamite.

Each club was creatively represented in an aesthetically pleasing still shot.

And there was, of course, a cheeseboard-related dig at Melbourne.

Collingwood

The reigning champions have taken a very creative approach to their fixture reveal, announcing their upcoming games in the form an Ikea catalogue.

It takes some thinking, but each team is abstractly represented by a product.

For example, GWS is an extractor hood — a nod to the 'big big sound' lyrics in their club song.

Bizarrely, it's unclear if the Swedish furniture shoe even officially sponsors the team.

GWS

If you have five minutes spare to watch defender/midfielder Cooper Hamilton read a poem, then GWS' fixture announcement is for you.

Carlton even took a crack at the length of the video in the comments.

It's a very clever piece, though, and definitely worth a watch.

Sydney, Gold Coast and Fremantle

If you're an NRL or NFL fan, this announcement format is nothing new.

The Swans and Suns went around Sydney and the Gold Coast asking tourists and locals — some of who were understandably unfamiliar with Aussie Rules — to guess clubs based on logos.

The end result is funny ... but only if you've never seen the concept before.

As for Fremantle, they asked fans for their honest thoughts on AFL clubs, creating a similar style video.

North Melbourne

The Kangaroos announced their fixture with a throwback to the popular AFL Live 2004 video game.

Brisbane

What better way to announce your fixtures than through a cheeseboard?

The Lions represented their opponents with various foods, taking plenty of digs and jibes at teams along the way.

Hawthorn

The Hawks got their players involved in a game of charades to release their 2024 schedule.

You can be the judge of who nailed their assignments...

Port Adelaide

If you're a fan of the browser game Line Rider, then Port's announcement is for you.

The game character navigates through the first 15 rounds of the season, riding on top of each team's logo.
