Western Bulldogs midfielder Britney Gutknecht has faced the AFLW Tribunal, after making a crunching chase-down tackle on Sydney's Paige Sheppard.
Though Sheppard was penalised for holding the ball, the midfielder-forward was slow to rise from the contact and was eventually helped off the ground by trainers.
The AFLW announced that Gutknecht would be referred directly to the Tribunal, with the midfielder facing the longest suspension in AFLW history, if found guilty.
Britney Gutknecht AFLW verdict for tackle on Paige Sheppard
In the action, Gutknecht appeared to pin the Swans player's arms below head height, with the force of the tackle bringing Sheppard to the ground.
The MRO graded the 22-year-old's hit as careless conduct and high contact with severe impact.
However, Gutknecht will be free to play for the remaining two games of the Dogs' season after her rough conduct charge was dismissed on Tuesday night.
Earlier in the day, Sydney confirmed that Sheppard received a concussion as a result of the tackle, although some fans questioned whether the action was worthy of a suspension at all.
Several commenters on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, called the chase down a "perfect tackle".
Britney Gutknecht has been sent straight to the Tribunal for this incident involving Paige Shepppard.
